Dairy Queens Can Rejoice — Serendipity Has Reached The Strip
Like so many New Yorkers do, famous landmark Manhattan sweet shop and eatery Serendipity 3 has decided to make Las Vegas its second home. Legions of Las Vegans will now be able to feed their craving for Frrrozen Hot Chocolate whenever the mood strikes, and with the heat in route the famed cafe known for oversized desserts has serendipitous timing. Serendipity 3’s decadent signature drink is everything you have ever heard uttered about it and more. It shares the menu with other luscious cocktails like Cotton Candy Martinis in pear, apple and peach flavors, Root Beer Floats concocted with Absolut Vodka and Root Beer Schnapps for a little zip, CoCo Berry, Peach Blueberry and Madras Mojitos, and Diva Daiquiris.
But it’s not all frozen drinks, there’s also a host of fun food at the Caesars Palace cool spot including everything from Mr. Dean’s Mac & Cheese which is a creamy tub of bliss with an herb-panko crust to the Tomato Soup which comes complete with goldfish afloat. The Bachelorette Party is a 14-inch New York hot dog that comes with a “Party on the Side” of all the fixins’. We were tempted by the Short Rib Pot Pie but opted for the High Heel Pump which is Prosciutto, Buffalo Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil Pesto sandwich. Truth be told, it was more like a sub and took more than one sitting to finish. Sliced turkey, apples, cranberry mayo and brie cheese are served open-faced on raisin pumpernickel bun to comprise the Summer Bries sandwich. The sandwiches are served with your choice of White Cheddar, Honey Jalapeno or Ketchup dusted gourmet potato chips — the White Cheddar chips are the bomb.
Unique menu selections have been created especially for the new location, which has both indoor and outdoor dining, including three themed Strip Steak Sandwiches. One in particular got our attention: the One-n-Only Las Vegas Buffet Steak Sandwich which features five varieties of steak — Italian, Japanese, French, Mexican and the Good ‘Ol USA. That’s definitely for the true carnivore.
There are also burgers, pizzas, salads, pastas, and omelets to entice, however, you mustn’t overlook the fabled drugstore sundaes. Made especially for Las Vegas is the Jackpot Sundae of dark chocolate ice cream, strawberry ice cream, chocolate chips and whipped cream. But if you are feeling super-decadent and have a crowd in tow go for the Serendipity Las Vegas Treasure Chest which is a chocolate chest box filled with assorted ice cream, cookies, berries and cakes. Truly scrumptious!
Serendipity 3, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd., South (Caesars Palace). Open Sunday-Thursday 11a.m. to 11p.m. and Friday & Saturday 11a.m. to 12midnight. For reservations, please 702-731-7266.
