Benefits: Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada (VMSN)
Setting: Starts at Las Vegas Shakespeare Company, routing through Downtown Las Vegas to the future site of VMSN’s downtown flagship clinic.
Highlights: The inaugural Fight for Health Super Hero Fun Run and Walk from 6 a.m. to noon today. All walkers and runners are encouraged to dress as superheroes for the event. All registrants will receive a complimentary T-shirt and the first 200 people will also receive a superhero cape. Whether you have a favorite character or something unique in mind, prizes will be given for the best costume, best team comic representation, most creative costume and best kids costume for children 13 years and younger. Costume contest will be held at 8 a.m.
About the Organization: Proceeds from the charity run and walk will go toward the organization’s current clinic operations and to the Florence Nightingale Fund. This money will help VMSN serve its patients and build a clinic in Downtown Las Vegas, where the need for health care services to the uninsured is great.

About the Organization: Nathan Adelson Hospice (NAH) is the largest non-profit hospice in Southern Nevada, caring for over 400 patients each day. Known as an industry leader, the organization has a reputation for providing exceptional end-of-life care. The funds raised from this event go toward supporting the hospice’s Uncompensated Care Program.

Highlights: The Heart Ball is a major fund-raising event benefiting research, public education and community programs of the American Heart Association. There will be a cocktail reception prior to the sit-down dinner as well as silent and live auction and an inspiring survivor video. Festivities will continue with honoree recognitions as well as music and dancing.
About the Organization: Funds raised as a result of this event will go toward improving treatment for heart patients, advocating for better health, reaching out to high risk populations, supporting research, providing CPR training, education and programs for men, women and children who suffer from heart problems.
