Highlights: The evening begins with the sounds of the Liberace Scholars String Quartet as guests indulge in wines, spirits, and hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail reception. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on more than 100 luxury items and packages featured in the silent auction. Live music will keep the energy alive throughout the program as renowned chefs Shawn McClain of Sage (Aria), Akira Black of Yellowtail (Bellagio), and Megan Romano of Chocolate and Spice Bakery Café prepare a multi-course gourmet dinner.

American Cancer Society’s Block Party for Skin Cancer Awareness
Benefits: Coaches vs. Cancer, a collaborative initiative of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)
Setting: Wahoo’s Boca Park, Summerlin
Highlights: The “Block Party for Skin Cancer Awareness” starts at 4 p.m. and will bring Las Vegas’ young up and coming professionals, survivors and vendors out in support of local Coaches vs. Cancer initiatives. Guests are invited to “relive their college days” by playing beer pong and other games, enjoying the Wake Pool, and hanging out in the Young Professionals Against Cancer sponsored “beer garden.” A “Flip Cup Raffle” will also be held with three grand prizes worth more than $500. For $5 attendees can participate in a Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament.

The Power Walk for Dress for Success
Benefits: Dress for Success Southern Nevada, an affiliate of the international non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women.

Highlights: The Power Walk, with 5K and 1-mile walk options, takes place in 40 international cities and promotes active, healthy lifestyle choices for women and families. Dress for Success Southern Nevada has partnered with the Las Vegas chapters of Weight Watchers for this year’s inaugural fundraising walk towards wellness, empowerment, and self-defined success.

26th Annual “Ribbon of Life” Spectacular

Highlights: “Ribbon of Life” is one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers in the state of Nevada and is Golden Rainbow’s main source of revenue. The fundraising spectacular, which starts at 1 p.m., is an original production unlike any other in the city, featuring some of the best performers from shows on the Las Vegas Strip. Showcasing new acts and talent, each year’s audience is always surprised, thrilled and inspired by performances that are exclusive to the event.
