INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED CHEF PIERRE GAGNAIRE CELEBRATES AMERICAN PURVEYORS DURING VEGAS UNCORKâD
Bon Appetitâs Vegas Uncorkâd has officially been uncorked. Last night, the 4th annual event kicked off and now the eating begins in earnest. Starting today there are food events galore that go until Sunday when it all ends with Chef Charlie Palmer and Disney presenting a Mother’s Day brunch paired with a performance of Disney’s âThe Lion King.â

Yours truly, however, would like to make a recommendation of an utterly unique experience that will only be available through the weekend. Celebrated Chef Pierre Gagnaire will be serving his âHomage to the American Product,â an exclusive tasting menu inspired by the domestic purveyors and farms used to create the masterpieces served at his only US restaurant Twist by Pierre Gagnaire at Mandarin Oriental.
âIâm calling this special menu âHomage to the American Productâ and it was created with our purveyors in mind, truly showcasing their hard work by presenting their product with respect for the ingredients,â said Chef Gagnaire. âI am very excited to come back to Las Vegas and very much look forward to cooking for our guests at Twist.â
Having already been wowed by the paradigm shifting experience brought forth by âHomage to the American Productâ, yours truly canât even begin to find the words to describe the mind bending Chef Gagnaire employs with food. Throw out everything you know about food and go enjoy the big colors, multi-plates within each course, and completely unexpected flavor congruence that is only Gagnaire. His interpretation of glazed Maine lobster, Washington Bay scallops, Sonoma foie gras, and roasted duck from San Francisco, all prominently featured in Homage, is definitely a âtwistâ on cuisine. The scallop “stew”, a lesson in umami, his roasted duck with black currants and morels, and the glazed Maine Lobster in a creamy coriander sauce in particular were each a brilliant stroke of genius. A once in a lifetime culinary gem, donât miss it — but we do recommend wearing your big pants and taking an appetite!
The pre-fixe menu pricing which also includes a five-dessert platter featuring sweet sensations inspired by traditional French pastries is $285 per person (excludes tax and gratuity). Guests can add a special wine pairing for an additional $95 per person.
