New Garden Fresh Dishes at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza
Truly Scrumptious was pleased to find out Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza has added some new menu items but even more delighted to find a new location is now in the offing (9516 W. Flamingo and 215) in a more ideal locale for her personal interests. But enough of the too-convenient to believe new spot, Vegetable and Noodle Curry, Chicken and Roast Chile Tacos, Grilled Shrimp Tacos, and Grilled Chicken and Hummus Wrap are now available on the menu.
We opted to try the newly added Roasted Vegetable Antipasto dish which is like a lovely summer garden overflowing with grilled fava beans, artichoke, yellow tomato, red bell pepper, onion, and basil along with fresh mozzarella and drizzled with balsamic and extra virgin olive oil. When the heat hits, our appetite shrinks so this is the perfect summertime lunching choice as you get to enjoy so many different flavors all in one dish without eating a lot.
Although not new but one item we hadn’t tried before was the Feta Manouri Cheese artisan thin crust pizza. All we can say is it doesn’t sound all that inviting but that’s a big misconception — it is a must. The combination of mild sheep cheese with orange blossom honey and fresh oregano makes this pizza a wonderful sweet/salty taste experience. Hmmm, it’s truly a savory sensation!
Our longtime Sammy’s favorites include the Brie Cheese artisan thin crust pizza with truffle oil and fresh wild mushrooms. It’s as tasty as it is simple. The same goes for the eatery’s Oak Roasted Asparagus, from their Tapas selections, which is topped with shaved Romano, prosciutto, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Another Truly favorite are Sammy’s Crispy Mahi Mahi Tacos which feature creamy tomato cilantro dressing, lime, guacamole, and salsa. Also on the list is the Curry Coconut Soup which offers diners a tangy and smooth blend of curry, chicken, organic spinach and red bell pepper.
And, finally, we can’t overlook the restaurant’s famous Messy Sundae of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel topped with whipped cream, chopped nuts and a cherry. It is indeed good especially if you are a sweet tooth and Sammy’s is offering a way to make the dessert even sweeter. Through August 31, for every new unused lunch box donated for Clark County area students in need, guests will receive one free Messy Sundae, valid at all five Sammy’s locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
Truly a scrumptious idea!
