Rubies and ribbons and alligator skin! Oh, my!
Oh my pretties! You won’t believe what is in store for you at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for the next two days (June 3 and 4). Whether you are a “Wizard of Oz” aficionado or a die-hard fashionista, you won’t want to miss “The Ruby Slipper Collection & Inspirations of Oz Fine Art Exhibition” now on display in the Mezz level (Mezzanine) at Planet Hollywood.
A celebration of high fashion in honor of the 70th Anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz”, the ultimate collection of “Ruby Slippers” is now on display. You will be over the rainbow with the oh-so-spuzzy array of stilettos, pumps, and shortie boots designed by 19 fashion masterminds including Betsey Johnson, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, Alberta Ferretti, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Oscar de la Renta, Stuart Weitzman, Giuseppe Zanotti, Moschino and many more.
Suspended in Lucite globes, the glittering works of art are as unbelievable as the Great Oz himself. A slew of modern reinterpretations of Dorothy’s famous ruby slippers, you haven’t seen so many brilliant red Swarovski crystals in one place since Liberace was in play. There’s also alligator skin, rolls of ribbons, scads of satin and many other frills decorating the footwear.
Additionally the artwork of15 esteemed artisans will be on display in the “Inspirations of Oz Fine Art Exhibition.” The exhibit features one-of-a-kind interpretive works from esteemed artisans such as Angelo Aversa, Romero Britto, Todd White, Phillip Graffham, Nelson de la Nuez, William Joyce and many more.
The Exhibition has travelled all over the world and this is the first and only Las Vegas showing. It will be on display to the public, free of charge, until June 4. And mind you it’s no clinking, clanking, clattering collection of kaligenous junk! In fact Truly can’t thing of a more scrumptious way to spend an hour.
