Around Town – Grand Opening Bash at The Palms

The Palms hosted parties April 5-7 that doubled as the opening events for its Kaos dayclub and nightclub complex and a re-launch for the resort’s $690 million renovation. Friday night festivities included a party for Bobby Flay’s new seafood restaurant Shark and the new Greene St. Kitchen, which spilled out onto the Kaos pool deck. That was followed by Alicia Keys performing in the Pearl concert venue, and the late-night launch of Kaos’ indoor club with Skrillex and Travis Scott. Saturday’s celebrations kicked into full gear when Marshmello took over the pool’s DJ booth a little after 3 p.m., and didn’t wind down until new Las Vegas resident Cardi B completed her indoor/outdoor set around 4 a.m.

In between, amusements for revelers included a gathering of the resort’s celebrity chefs, including Flay, Michael Symon and Marc Vetri at an unofficial launch party for the new Aperitivo Hour at Vetri’s restaurant in the sky. Those still ready to party Sunday were treated to Kaskade at the dayclub, Hozier at The Pearl and the Zac Brown Band at a special nighttime outdoor Kaos show. About 25,000 people, including 1,000 invited guests, celebrated the opening weekend of Kaos at The Palms.
