Around Town: Ladybug ball

The Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation hosted its 10th annual Ladybug Ball on April 13 at The Mirage. More than 500 supporters enjoyed cocktails, a multi-course gourmet meal and entertainment by the resort’s headliner, Terry Fator. Following the Visionary award presentation to Paul Stowell of City National Bank, auctioneer Zack Krone ran the spirited live auction. Guests bid on a variety of prizes — including trips to the Bahamas and Mexico, and autographed items by the Vegas Golden Knights — before heading outdoors for the poolside afterparty. All proceeds provide education, recreation, programs and services for blind and visually impaired youth in Southern Nevada.

Among the first set of headliners at Kaos, Cardi B sang until 4 a.m.
Guests at the eighth anniversary celebration gathered under the boughs of “Absinthe’s” Electric Oak art installation, which has 120,000 LED leaves that change color to music.
The meal included ladybug cake pops.
