The jet packs and Las Vegas’ newest luxury lifestyle exhibition took off in unison. Last month at the Las Vegas Convention Center, virtual reality sandboxes, six-figure sports cars and hand-made furniture fashioned from petrified wood heralded the local debut of Big Boys Toys, where an eye-popping array of high-end and futuristic products were offered. Having taken place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the past nine years, the convention launched its Las Vegas edition with an array of custom-built yachts, one-of-kind motorcycles and personal flying machines with outsize visual appeal and price tags. Big Boys Toys employs a team of researchers who work year-round to identify new items from across the globe to feature at the show. Founder Biju Jayaraaj said that the first Vegas version of the event was a teaser for much larger incarnations to come. The convention returns to Las Vegas Oct. 23-25 in 2020.
