Black & White Ball

Nevada Ballet Theatre’s annual “Black & White Ball,” its biggest fete of the year, took place on Jan. 26 at Aria Resort and Casino. This year’s Woman of the Year was Rita Moreno, who belongs in an exclusive company of just 15 entertainers with EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status. The evening commenced with a VIP cocktail party, followed by a meet-and-greet with the honoree. Terry Fator gave a surprise performance with his Anita (“West Side Story”) puppet, and NBT’s professional Company danced to “America.” The evening’s proceeds benefit the work of NBT, the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre and education and outreach programs that reach more than 20,000 Clark County students each year.

Among the first set of headliners at Kaos, Cardi B sang until 4 a.m.
Guests at the eighth anniversary celebration gathered under the boughs of “Absinthe’s” Electric Oak art installation, which has 120,000 LED leaves that change color to music.
The meal included ladybug cake pops.
