More than 3,000 people attended the Israeli-American Council’s “Celebrate Israel” festival on May 19. Held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, the event marked
71 years of Israel’s independence with a march of flags, entertainment, kosher food, a marketplace and other activities. Children enjoyed face painting, arts and crafts, and rock climbing, while teens played interactive games, checked out Israeli technology and innovations and participated in a silent disco party.
Decorated paper doves by local organizations and families were displayed on the Wall of Peace, and paintings by Artist 4 Israel depicted
71 years of Israeli leadership. The opening ceremony included performances by the Adelson School choir, IAC Keshset children, Las Vegas cantor group and a children’s group from Congregation Ner Tamid.
Singer, model and actress Ninet Tayeb headlined the festival, which also featured the a cappella group Six13 and the Machol Lohet Dance Group.
