‘Love Potion No. 9’

Opera Las Vegas celebrated its 2019 gala, “Love Potion No. 9,” on Feb. 6 at the La Sirena Ballroom in Green Valley Ranch. Fine cuisine, a steady flow of champagne and a mix of fast-paced popular and operatic delights put together by celebrated musician Keith Thompson entertained guests throughout the evening. A selection of silent auction items also were up for bidding, including a time share on a Greek beach. Jerry Nadal, senior executive with Cirque du Soleil, was the evening’s honoree with Opera Las Vegas’ first-ever Excellence in Arts award.

Among the first set of headliners at Kaos, Cardi B sang until 4 a.m.
Guests at the eighth anniversary celebration gathered under the boughs of “Absinthe’s” Electric Oak art installation, which has 120,000 LED leaves that change color to music.
The meal included ladybug cake pops.
