Las Vegas resident Kevin Na won the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open on Oct. 6.
The 2011 Shriners champion held off Patrick Cantlay in the final round to win the PGA Tour’s 37th annual event in Las Vegas. The competition followed a week of activities to benefit Shriners Hospitals for
Children locations nationwide. Tournament week kicked off with representatives from premier U.S. golf clubs competing in the “Clash of the Clubs” Pro-Am event on Sept. 30. The popular “Kick Off Your Heels” luncheon took place Oct. 1, and set a new attendance record with 400 women taking over The Hill at TPC Summerlin. Hosted by Mix 94.1’s Mercedes Martinez, guests ate a meal prepared by Maggiano’s Little Italy – Downtown Summerlin and bid on silent auction items while taking in views of the 16th, 17th and 18th holes. For the PGA Tour tournament, golf fans got to see top golfers from around the world, including Phil Mickelson, who made his first appearance in the Las Vegas event since 2005. The professional tournament for charity will return to TPC Summerlin from Oct. 5 to 11 in 2020.
