SUMMER SOIREE

Designers, distributors and devotees of all things beautiful exchanged business cards, air kisses, hearty handshakes and side hugs at the Summer Soiree, an opening night fete for attendees of the Las Vegas Market — the largest wholesale furniture, home decor and gift show west of Mississippi. While the official Market event took place in the tents and showrooms at the World Market Center, this soigne set gathered at Tableau at Wynn Las Vegas to savor cocktails and sliders. Robert Maricich, chairman and CEO of International Market Centers (which hosted the party and produces LVM and High Point Market in North Carolina twice a year), gave an official welcoming toast to the crowd, which included well-known names such as celebrity interior designer Kelli Ellis and Thom Felicia who gained fame as the design expert on Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.” LVM officials said the August Market was particularly successful, with significant increases in first-time exhibitors and buyer attendance.
