Famed Architect named ‘Icon’

Internationally acclaimed architect Frank Gehry, widely recognized as the most prominent living architect, was back in Las Vegas recently, where he added another award to his long list of accolades.

Sitting in the WorldView Room at the World Market Center, Gehry became the first architect to receive the 2018 Design Icon Award from officials of the Las Vegas Market, the largest furnishings and design marketplace west of the Mississippi.

The award presentation, the 12th annual event of its kind, took place just 500 feet from the Gehry-designed Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, which opened in 2010. A cocktail reception was held later that evening at the sloped, steel-paneled landmark building.
