Calm & Cozy: Snuggle into the new year with the comforts of home

After all the holiday hustle and bustle, it’s time to wind down and embrace the start of the new year with a little quiet reflection. What better way to do that than to adopt the Danish concept of hygge (pronounced hoo-gah)?

There is no literal translation of the word — it’s simply the creation of a cozy environment where nesting is encouraged and the pace of life is taken down several notches through analog activities such as reading or having quiet conversations.

If this seems antithetical to the frenetic American way of life, consider that Denmark is consistently ranked as one of the happiest countries on earth. Here are a few items to make your space a hygge haven.
