Chef Kim Canteenwalla elevates airport food

An airport layover can be the bane of travelers’ existence, but access to a luxe lounge can make the interlude more pleasant. The American Express Centurion Lounge at McCarran International Airport features spacious seating, shower suites and work stations. Renowned chef Kim Canteenwalla recently partnered with the credit card company to bring favorites from Honey Salt, the Summerlin restaurant he founded with wife Elizabeth Blau.

Dishes to replenish weary travelers include Kim’s Weekend Frittata, Kale & Anaheim Pepper Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Grain Power Salad and Brioche Caramel Pudding. Ingredients are locally and regionally sourced and dishes rotate seasonally, so you might find yourself wishing for a delay. The Centurion Lounge is open to Platinum and Centurion card members only, but they may purchase a day pass for additional guests for $50 each. The lounge is located in Concourse D, across from Gate D1.
