How sweet it is! A trio of otherworldly worldly confectioneries

Could there be a sweeter time to call Las Vegas home?
Along with star-rated chefs’ spots on the Strip, neighborhood cafes, bakeries and restaurants are springing up, delivering delectable savories and confections from around the world. Here are three ways to sample baked beauties and coffee inspired by Korea, France and Italy without leaving town.

Gäbi Coffee & Bakery The newest kid on the Chinatown block, Gäbi Coffee & Bakery is one of the most unique spaces in town. Designed for the Instagram era, the beautiful coffee and bakery café (created by husband and wife owners, Jay Kim and Jine Lee, of uber-popular Korean BBQ, Hobak) is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. The shop includes an indoor greenhouse roasting room, trees, an eclectic mix of furniture, Asian art and even a tiered bookshelf with slide and stairs where patrons can sit. Meticulously crafted colorful pastries, cakes, cookies and other treats are baked fresh on-site and curated to pair with the coffee. Sandwiches, salads savories and tea also are offered. The goodies are so gorgeous that photographs must be snapped before any bites are taken.

Must try: Danmee Cake — chiffon cake with orange blossom mascarpone mousse and Korean black raspberry wine gelée on top — smells and tastes as beautiful as it looks.
5808 Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas;

Trattoria Italia Trattoria Italia offers scrumptious pastries and other treats baked fresh daily and displayed in the bakery case at the entrance. The family-owned-restaurant in Henderson serves simple Italian food, wine and beer, and has been the go-to spot for Sicilian-inspired cuisine since 2016. The casual restaurant with red-and-white checked tablecloths recently expanded into the space next door.

Every morning before the sun is up, family patriarch Andrea D’Alba, a pastry chef for more than 40 years, bakes the desserts and sweets for lunch and dinner services on-site. He crafts profiteroles, sfogliatelle (shell-shaped, ricotta-filled pastrie), fruit tarts, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, cookies and other delectables.

Must try: Biscotti alle Mandorle, the perfect sweet Italian cookie. 9905 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson;

Delices Gourmands French Bakery When French bakers Catherine and Yves Crivello moved to Las Vegas a few years ago, they came into one of the largest bread ovens outside of a commercial kitchen. Finding a spot that accommodated their equipment was kismet when a space opened off Sahara Avenue.

Delices Gourmands serves baked-fresh daily French pastries, Danish, croissants, eclairs and cookies. Also on the menu are cold and hot sandwiches, soups, salads, crepes, quiches, eggs benedict, cold and hot teas, coffee and hot chocolate. The bakery, which sells beautiful breads and delightful desserts here, to hotels on the Strip and restaurants around the Valley, also offers dine-in options.

With so many delightful choices, deciding what to have will be the real challenge.

Must try: The classic French croissant is pure buttery goodness (the chocolate choice is a must for those with a sweet tooth; or try the almond option). 3620 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas;
